Maharani Mancanagara works through graphic media, mixed media, and installation. For the last five years, Maharani has often visualized the long history of education in Indonesia and also story of Indonesia’s political prisoners (through her late grandfather’s artifacts). She experimented with these heirlooms and artifacts, turning them into art, as a way of self-identification. She is hopeful that this will give wider recognition to people with similar backgrounds to hers.
